ScanSheet wins when you need a desktop view of the table while scanning. The phone scans, but the laptop screen shows the running count, lets you edit quantities inline, and lets a second person verify entries in real time. For inventory counts where two people work together (one scans, one verifies), this is the only workflow of the three that supports it natively.
ScanSheet also wins on privacy. Scan data lives in your laptop browser's local storage by default — no Google account, no cloud database, no extension phoning home. For SKUs with pricing, customer IDs, or asset tags you do not want to share with a third party, this matters.
Where Scan to Web Sheet wins
Scan to Web Sheet wins when your entire workflow already lives in Google Sheets. If you have a shared inventory sheet that three people edit from different locations, routing scans directly into that sheet is simpler than exporting CSV and importing it. The trade-off is that every scan passes through Google's servers, and the extension does not work in Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
